Overview

A green zone is a group of neighborhoods with:

  • High levels of pollution
  • Racial, political and economic marginalization

We work with residents to achieve environmental justice by:

  • Addressing environmental issues
  • Prioritizing programs and incentives in the Green Zones

Minneapolis has two Green Zones:

  • Northside Green Zone
  • Southside Green Zone

Each green zone has a City advisory board:

  • Northside Green Zone Task Force
  • Southside Green Zone Council
