Newton Ave N sewer improvements

Project overview

We will repair damaged sections of sanitary sewer located along Newton Ave N. between 53rd Ave N to Shingle Creek. The project will replace 489 linear feet of collapsed 9-inch clay pipe and maintenance holes.

The new sanitary sewer will:

• Prevent the need for more extensive repairs in the future.
• Be installed in the same location and alignment as the existing sewer.
• Enhance sanitary flow and minimize groundwater infiltration and inflow.

Traffic impacts

Roadwork and utility work involves use of heavy equipment that will increase noise, vibration, and dust in work areas. You might see:

• Traffic lanes that narrow or are restricted during construction.
• Parking lanes that will be closed during construction.
• Pedestrian detours around work areas. These will be set up as needed to enable construction. Expect greater impacts at intersections where work is occurring.
