When you become a Clean City Classroom educator, you can teach youth about the best ways to handle waste. We'll provide you lesson plans and materials at no cost.

Overview

The Clean City Classroom program provides free lesson plans to educate youth. From teachers, to day care providers, to after school programs, or families, anyone can use this program.

The curriculum covers a variety of waste topics from awareness to reduction, including:

  • Litter prevention
  • Managing waste in Minneapolis
  • Waste reduction
  • Recycling
  • Composting
  • Understanding plastics

If you'd like to start a recycling program at your school, Hennepin County can help. The County offers grants to start or improve recycling or organics recycling programs. Eligible programs include
