Goals and mission
Goals
We help develop entry-level positions through PHPP.
Our goals are to:
- Provide paid jobs for non-students. This helps give opportunities for people without higher education.
- Offer part-time jobs for students who are studying public health. Individuals who are interested in a degree in public health, a related field, or a non-related field are also eligible.
- Create entry-level positions with fewer barriers. This is to allow for a more diverse applicant pool.
- Prioritize hiring people who have completed a PHPP internship in the past.
Mission
Our vision is to provide youth and young adults an internship that:
- Offers students early introduction and hands-on experience.
- Creates pathways to employment for those interested in public health careers that serve Minneapolis communities.
- Contributes to diversity of experiences and perspectives in the public health workforce.
