Partner events

We work with local partners to host events for our interns to learn more about public health career pathways. Our partners include:

• Schools
• Universities
• Organizations
• Community groups
• Neighborhood associations

Goals

We help develop entry-level positions through PHPP.

Our goals are to:

• Provide paid jobs for non-students. This helps give opportunities for people without higher education.
• Offer part-time jobs for students who are studying public health. Individuals who are interested in a degree in public health, a related field, or a non-related field are also eligible.
• Create entry-level positions with fewer barriers. This is to allow for a more diverse applicant pool.
• Prioritize hiring people who have completed a PHPP internship in the past.

Mission

Our vision is to provide youth and young adults an internship that:

• Offers students early introduction and hands-on experience.
• Creates pathways to employment for those interested in public health careers that serve Minneapolis communities.
• Contributes to diversity of experiences and perspectives in the public health workforce.
